Scaling Self-Similar Formulation of the String Equations of the Hermitian Matrix Model

    Get PDF
The string equation appearing in the double scaling limit of the Hermitian one--matrix model, which corresponds to a Galilean self--similar condition for the KdV hierarchy, is reformulated as a scaling self--similar condition for the Ur--KdV hierarchy. A non--scaling limit analysis of the one--matrix model has led to the complexified NLS hierarchy and a string equation. We show that this corresponds to the Galilean self--similarity condition for the AKNS hierarchy and also its equivalence to a scaling self--similar condition for the Heisenberg ferromagnet hierarchy.Comment: 12 pages in AMS-LaTeX, AMS-LaTeXable versio

    Studies conducted on chemical composition of bean weevil (Acanthoscelides obtectus) revealed that a mg/100g dry matter sample of the weevil contains 34.14 ± 0.02% moisture, 38.94 ± 0.01% crude protein, 34.07 ± 0.03% crude fat, 12.00 ± 0.01% crude fibre, 8.00 ± 0.01% ash and 36.99 ± 0.01% carbohydrate, the results of the mineral composition showed that mg/100g dry water sample of bean weevil contains Ca (3.30 ± 0.01), Mg (1.0 ±0.01), Na (0.01 ± 0.02), K (0.31 ± 0.02), P (0.022 ± 0.02), Zn (2.09 ± 0.02), Mn (1.60 ± 0.02), Cu (1.15 ± 0.01) and Fe (7.92 ± 0.01). The toxicants content of a mg/100g of the sample were 5.28 ± 0.01, 2.64 ± 0.01, 4.96 ± 0.01 and 3.30 ± 0.01 for total oxalate, HCN, tannins and phytate respectively. Hence bean weevil contains less amount of toxicants and high amount of vital nutrients required for healthy living

Profinite completion of Grigorchuk's group is not finitely presented

In this paper we prove that the profinite completion G^\mathcal{\hat G} of the Grigorchuk group G\mathcal{G} is not finitely presented as a profinite group. We obtain this result by showing that H^2(\mathcal{\hat G},\field{F}_2) is infinite dimensional. Also several results are proven about the finite quotients G/StG(n)\mathcal{G}/ St_{\mathcal{G}}(n) including minimal presentations and Schur Multipliers

Neutron scattering study of magnetic phase separation in nanocrystalline La5/8_{5/8}Ca3/8_{3/8}MnO3_3

We demonstrate that magnetic phase separation and competing spin order in the colossal magnetoresistive (CMR) manganites can be directly explored via tuning strain in bulk samples of nanocrystalline La1−x_{1-x}Cax_xMnO3_3. Our results show that strain can be reversibly frozen into the lattice in order to stabilize coexisting antiferromagnetic domains within the nominally ferromagnetic metallic state of La5/8_{5/8}Ca3/8_{3/8}MnO3_3. The measurement of tunable phase separation via magnetic neutron powder diffraction presents a direct route of exploring the correlated spin properties of phase separated charge/magnetic order in highly strained CMR materials and opens a potential avenue for realizing intergrain spin tunnel junction networks with enhanced CMR behavior in a chemically homogeneous material.Comment: 6 pages, 4 figures. Magnetic order and the electronic ground state in the pyrochlore iridate Nd2Ir2O7

We report a combined muon spin relaxation/rotation, bulk magnetization, neutron scattering, and transport study of the electronic properties of the pyrochlore iridate Nd2Ir2O7. We observe the onset of strongly hysteretic behavior in the temperature dependent magnetization below 120 K, and an abrupt increase in the temperature dependent resistivity below 8 K. Zero field muon spin relaxation measurements show that the hysteretic magnetization is driven by a transition to a magnetically disordered state, and that below 8 K a complex magnetically ordered ground state sets in, as evidenced by the onset of heavily damped spontaneous muon precession. Our measurements point toward the absence of a true metal-to-insulator phase transition in this material and suggest that Nd2Ir2O7 lies either within or on the metallic side of the boundary of the Dirac semimetal regime within its topological phase diagram.Comment: 21 pages, 7 figure

Expression of a long variant of CRACR2A that belongs to the Rab GTPase protein family in endothelial cells

    Get PDF
CRACR2A protein is described in T cells as an EF-hand-containing modulator of calcium-release-activated calcium (CRAC) channels. Here we sought relevance to calcium entry of endothelial cells. Unexpectedly, short interfering RNA designed to deplete CRACR2A had no effect on CRAC channels in endothelial cells but reduced the abundance of a protein with about twice the mass of CRACR2A. Reference to gene sequence data indicated the potential for a variant transcript encoding a C-terminal Rab GTPase extension of CRACR2A. Full-length cloning demonstrated expression of the long variant in endothelial cells. It was designated CRACR2A-L. Sequence analysis suggested it to be a previously unrecognised member of the Rab GTPase family. It made a positive contribution to endothelial tube formation. The data suggest that endothelial cells contain a long variant of CRACR2A which is an EF-hand-containing Rab protein that lacks impact on CRAC channels
